Make
Sure Your Dog Has a Safe and Happy Halloween!
- Keep pets indoors and away from
your front door on Halloween night.
- Keep pumpkins out of reach. Pets can
accidentally knock them over.

Two NEW
Dog-Friendly City Guides Added:
Phoenix,
Arizona and Portland,
Oregon
DogFriendly.com now offers City Guides for Phoenix
and Portland. Our City Guides offer all kinds of
dog-friendly places where you can take your best
friend. In Phoenix you and your dog are welcome at the
Biltmore Fashion Park shopping mall where most of the
retail stores allow pets. Some of the pet-friendly
stores include Macy's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, Restoration
Hardware, Pottery Barn, Godiva Chocolatier, The
Sharper Image, Williams-Sonoma, Three Dog Bakery, and
Baily, Banks & Biddle. Many of the outdoor
restaurants at the mall also allow dogs. If you want
to see a bit of history, visit the Deer Valley Rock
Art Center and take a self-guided walking tour to an
archeological site where you can view 200 to 2,000
year old petroglyphs with your pooch. In Phoenix you
will also find parks with miles of easy to strenuous
scenic hiking trails. For details about this and more,
take a look at our online Phoenix
City Guide.
There is much to see and do in Portland too. From
April through November, you can bring your dog on an
award-winning guided outdoor walking tour of Portland.
The Best of Portland tour features an overview of
Portland including history, architecture, and artwork.
If you like arts and crafts, try attending the
Portland Saturday Market which is held every Saturday
and Sunday. There you will find the largest outdoor
arts and crafts market in continuous operation in the
United States. Dogs are welcome and the market has
several pet-related booths which sell dog cookies and
even waterproof fleece-lined dog coats. If all of the
walking around makes you work up an appetite, be sure
to visit the Lucky Labrador Brewing Company. This
dog-friendly pub's mascot, a black lab, is featured on
their beer labels. At the pub you will find a variety
of beer and food. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor
tables. The Lucky Lab even holds a dog wash on their
anniversary in October. To view all Portland listings,
